Think of your home. If person was to ask you where is your home, you would give landmarks, road estimate and other details to point out the location of your home. Same thing applies to your state, your country. Where is the Usa? You will answer- north of Mexico and south of Canada. Are you getting the drift of my discussion? We have reference points for all locations on the earth. Similarly we have reference points of stars in the universe. When we think of the sun as stationary with reference to space, we can find other stars. Sun is the reference point for locating then. But what about reference point of the universe itself?
If you were to assume that the universe was not infinite but finite and with a shape then you need to get a reference point for that. This in case, granted you think that there are other universes in the space. Where does the boundary of our universe end? What is beyond that? If our universe is part of larger space, then only space must be beyond our universe. Then there should be an additional one universes somewhere else. This brings us to the question- Are we alone in the larger Universe? Is our universe the only one in the larger universe or there are other universes. No clear write back is yet available for this.
About Stars In Space
Universe is a great mystery. We look at stars and forget to think that there are stars beyond, and more beyond, at distances that defy human comprehension. What are these stars doing there? What lies beyond? It is all a big mystery. The existence itself is a big mystery. A small atom has a nuclei that has protons- all unavoidable charged together, and we have stars that match the military so very well that everything looks just perfect. Difficult to understand - Go ahead and think.

Space - Which is the Reference Point For Our Universe?Symphony of Science - 'Our Place in the Cosmos' (ft. Sagan, Dawkins, Kaku, Jastrow) Tube. Duration : 4.35 Mins.
MP3: symphonyofscience.com "Our Place in the Cosmos", the third video from the Symphony of Science, was crafted using samples from Carl Sagan's Cosmos, Richard Dawkins' Genius of Charles Darwin series, Dawkins' TED Talk, Stephen Hawking's Universe series, Michio Kaku's interview on Physics and aliens, plus added visuals from Baraka, Koyaanisqatsi, History Channel's Universe series, and IMAX Cosmic Voyage. The themes present in this song are intended to explore our understanding of our origins within the universe, and to challenge the commonplace notion that humans have a superior or privleged position, both on our home planet and in the universe itself. RIP Dr. Sagan and Dr. Jastrow! For more science remixes, check out http As always, view in HQ mode for better sound and visuals. Enjoy! John john@symphonyofscience.com Lyrics: [Narrator] With every century Our eyes on the universe have been opened anew We are witness To the very brink of time and space [Robert Jastrow] We must ask ourselves We who are so proud of our accomplishments What is our place in the cosmic perspective of life? [Carl Sagan] The exploration of the cosmos Is a voyage of self discovery As long as there have been humans We have searched for our place in the cosmos [Richard Dawkins] Are there things about the universe That will be forever beyond our grasp? Are there things about the universe that are Ungraspable? [Sagan] One of the great revelations of space exploration Is the image of the earth, finite ...
